Philosophy
Student Voice needs to be planned/opportunistic/regular/innovative and with a strong focus on thinking and learning. Einstein wrote “The world as we have created it is a process of our thinking. It cannot be changed without changing our thinking.”
The purpose of student voice, therefore, is to engage, ignite and enrich the thinking about learning in the school community. This is achieved through consultation in an open and closed way and in the provision of opportunities to dialogue, collaborate and innovate within the learning culture.
Purpose
The purpose of student voice collection in Teaching and Learning is to shape and celebrate the learning process in school. This is done primarily through dialogue with students about their learning experience in formal and in informal ways. The rationale for this is to impact on teaching and learning through addressing the learning needs of individuals and groups. This consultation ensures that learning is reflective, dynamic and student-led.
