Throughout the month of October, we are celebrating Black History, with opportunities to learn about Saints that are not so popular and also about significant figures in history such as Maya Angelou (see below PowerPoint), Nelson Mandela and Martin Luther King.
Alongside this, our students have been able to listen to music from a variety of cultures.
I share with you the following beautiful Zulu folk hymn ‘Siyahamba’
Siyahamba, ekukanyen' kwenkos',
Siyahamba, ekukanyen' kwenkos',
Siyahamba, ekukanyen' kwenkos',
Siyahamba, ekukanyen' kwenkos',
Siyahamba, siyahamba, oh,
Siyahamba ekukanyen' kwenkos'.
Siyahamba, siyahamba, oh,
Siyahamba ekukanyen' kwenkos'.
We are marching in the light of God.
We are marching in the light of God.
We are marching in the light of God.
We are marching in the light of God.
We are marching, we are marching, ooh,
We are marching in the light of God.
We are marching, we are marching, ooh,
We are marching in the light of God.
In the words of Maya Angelou,
May we continue to be ‘the rainbow in another’s cloud!’
Wishing you all many Blessings in Christ,
Mr J Bonner
