"Libraries are browsing places, dreaming places, finding out places. So much education takes place when children are making choices of their own."

- Michael Morpurgo

Open every lunchtime, the library is a calm and comfortable space for students to come and borrow a book, sit and read, or do homework. The shelves are well-stocked with fiction and non-fiction books catering for a variety of reading interests and including books for all ages and reading levels. Students in all year groups are encouraged to borrow books to read for pleasure, interest or research, and are allowed to take out up to three books at a time for up to three weeks.

The library is staffed by a qualified librarian who is here to help students find reading material and is responsible for managing the collection, taking student suggestions into account when selecting and buying new books for the library. A dedicated team of student library helpers assist with staffing the counter at lunchtime and keeping the library tidy, and sixth form helpers play a lead role in library initiatives, for example helping to run reading groups and organise displays.

Staff and sixth formers are welcome to use the library at any time for quiet study. The adjoining I.C.T. Suite is also available for sixth formers to use at lunchtime: please sign in via the library.

Located near Reception, the library is a flexible space which is also used for lessons, exams, meetings and events.

Please come and visit your school library and find the right book for you!

“If you find the right book it can change your life”
