National Apprenticeship Week 2025 runs from 10 to 16 February 2025
A week-long celebration that brings together businesses and apprentices across the country to shine a light on the positive impact that apprenticeships make to individuals, businesses and the wider economy
What is an apprenticeship?
Apprenticeships are an option for many students to gain valuable experience by combining paid work with off-the-job training, which will lead to nationally recognised qualifications. A wide range of apprenticeships in many different fields are available to people over the age of 16. Apprenticeships are offered at different levels, depending on experience and prior qualifications:
- Intermediate Apprenticeships are Level 2, which is the equivalent of GCSE level.
- Advanced Apprenticeships are Level 3, the equivalent of A level.
- Higher Apprenticeships range between Levels 4 to 7, which can be Foundation Degree equivalent or above.
- Degree Apprenticeships are Level 6 or 7, and are equivalent to Bachelor's or Master's Degrees
More information about Apprenticeships can be found on the government website.
