Celebrating a £5000 win!

Library renovations can begin with a £5000 Golden Grant from Tesco Stronger Starts!

We would like to extend a huge thank you to our parents, students, staff and wider school community who supported the recent fundraiser at the local Tesco supermarkets in Bedford. Thank you so much to everyone who took part, showing your support by adding the Blue Tokens to our project.

There was, however, only one golden disc hidden in the Bedford stores and we were thrilled to discover that a member of our community had not only found this disc but chose to use it to support our library project. We are extremely thankful!

It means that we can start our plans for transforming our school library into a vibrant hub of learning and discovery with new books and a fresh, engaging space.

Our project is a plan to renovate our school's library and increase the variety of books available for our students. Currently, our library is in a poor state, with outdated books and a space that needs refurbishment. We want to change this because a good library can inspire students to read more and help them succeed in their studies.

The renovation will turn the library into a welcoming space. We will introduce comfortable seating, better lighting, and different areas for different age groups. This will make the library a great place for reading, group work, and research.

The new books we plan to buy will cater to many interests and reading levels. We also aim to include books in different languages to celebrate the diversity of our students. By updating our book collection, we want to make reading enjoyable and support learning across all subjects.

But this project is not just for our school. The renovated library will also serve our wider community. We plan to host events like reading clubs and author visits, and run workshops to improve reading skills. By doing this, we hope to encourage a love of reading and lifelong learning among all our community members.

Lastly, this project is an investment in our future. By improving our library, we are helping our students - the future leaders of our community - to grow and learn. We are committed to using the funds to create a library that our school and community can be proud of. The impact of this project will be felt for years to come.

Thank you to Tesco for the opportunity that this provides. It means a huge amount to our school and local community.
